Materials used by Avoncourt Packaging LTD

We produce trays from using different raw materials, depending on our customer's requirements.
We are currently undertaking a research project to produce trays from corn starch materials.
We currently produce the following materials :

APET
APET is a plastic produced from polyester resin. It is particularly beneficial where a high clarity tray is required.

OPS

Oriented Polystyrene (OPS) is a lightweight, flexible plastic that has excellent transparency. It is of particular advantage in food applications as there is no migration from the plastic to the product. OPS is produced in sheet form using a process called biaxial orientation. This gives the sheet more flexibility compared to linear polystyrene sheet.

The major advantage to customers is the clarity of the tray, which contributes to the eye-catching appeal of the product.

Polypropylene
Polypropylene (PP) is a plastic noted for its lightweight and rubbery feel. It does not absorb water and will stretch more than other plastics.

PVC
PVC has been widely used for over fifty years and is a very durable plastic. Only food grade PVC is used, and is a safe and hygienic plastic. It is made from PVC resin and additives, heated and formed using calendering equipment.
